AbstractPostupak destilacije alkohola bio je poznat još u starom Egiptu i staroj Grčkoj. Alkemičari u srednjem vijeku bavili su se destilacijom raznih alkoholnih otopina. Proizvodnja voćnih rakija također je vrlo stara. U današnje vrijeme tržište u većoj mjeri zahtjeva rakije proizvedene od čistih voćnih sorti koje pokazuju posebnu aromu karakterističnu za pojedinu sortu. Rakija se smatra nacionalnim pićem mnogih naroda. U Hrvatskoj je najpoznatija vrsta rakije šljivovica, koja se proizvodi postupkom pečenja ili destilacije fermentiranih šljiva. Po kvaliteti je najpoznatija Badel Stara Šljivovica koja nosi brojna svjetska priznanja, te znak Izvorno Hrvatsko, kojim pronosi glas o vrhunskom hrvatskom proizvodu daleko izvan granica naše domovine, ispreplićući u sebi kulturno i povijesno nasljeđe i doprinoseći na taj način i turističkoj promociji Hrvatske. Druga popularna vrsta uz obalu Jadrana je lozovača koje se proizvodi od grožđa. Cijena rakije ovisi o njenoj kvaliteti. Rakije tipične za pojedina područja Republike Hrvatske kao što su šljivovica, rakija od smokava, rakija od rogača te rakija od višnje maraske su odličan prehrambeni suvenir .

Parallel abstract (English)The process of distillation of alcohol was known in ancient Egypt and ancient Greece. In the Middle Age, alchemists made various alcoholic solution. Production of fruit brandy has also long tradition. Modern market largely request brandy made from pure fruit varieties that show special flavor characteristic for each variety. Brandy is considered the national drink of many nations. In Croatia, the most popular type of brandy is a plum brandy, which is produced by baking or distillation of fermented plum. The most famous plum brandy is Badel Old Plum Brandy, which has numerous international awards and sign Originally Croatian, which transmits voice on top Croatian product far beyond the borders of our country, entangling themselves in cultural and historical heritage and thus contributing to the promotion of Croatian tourism. Another popular brandy type of the Adriatic coast is a brandy made from grapes. The price of the brandy on the market depends on its quality. Typical Croatian brandy like, plum brandy, fig brandy, carob brandy or maraska brandy, are excellent food souvenir.
