AbstractEko hrana je hrana koja se proizvodi na tradicionalni način, tj. bez dodatka umjetnih gnojiva, pesticida, raznih lijekova, ostalih kemijskih preparata i bez GMO. Eko uzgojem se postiže da hrana sadrži veoma malo štetnih tvari, te da hranjive tvari budu u velikoj mjeri prisutne unutar određene namirnice. Nasuprot eko hrani nalazi se GM hrana. GM biljkama i životinjama umeću se geni drugih biljaka ili životinja, što im omogućuje veće prinose, bolju zaštitu od bolesti ali i razne nuspojave te štetne učinke. Premda postoji velik broj dokaza kako je eko hrana u mnogome kvalitetnija od GM hrane i dalje se u svijetu širi propaganda o prednostima GM hrane. Osim što je kvalitetnija, eko hrana je privlačnija ljudima. Ljudi više vjeruju namirnicama proizvedenim ekološkim putem. Hrvatski turizam od autohtonih prehrambenih namirnica proizvedenih na ekološkim domaćinstvima stvorio je brand koji privlači sve veći broj gostiju ali i potiče domicilno stanovništvo i u svojim mjestima stanovanja kozumiraju hrvatske proizvode.

Parallel abstract (English)Organic food is food produced in the traditional way, ie, without the addition of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, various drugs, other chemical products and non-GMO. Eco farming ensures that foods contain very few harmful substances and that nutrients are largely present within certain foods. In contrast, organic food is GM food. In GM plants and animals are inserted genes from other plants or animals, which allows them higher yields, better protection against the disease but also a variety of side effects and adverse effects. Although there is, a large body of evidence that organic food is much better than GM propaganda about the benefits of GM food is still spreading.
