AbstractRad se bavi odnosima s javnošću i promatra ih kao društvenu znanost koja analizira trendove, predviđa posljedice, savjetuje menadžere i provodi planirane programe kako bi se zadovoljio organizacijski i javni interes. Definiraju se funkcije, uloge i zadaci odnosa s javnošću s različitih gledišta. Iako je u svijetu djelatnost odnosa s javnošću razvijenija, u posljednje se vrijeme i u Hrvatskoj primjećuje pozitivan pomak povećanjem broja zaposlenih u javnom sektoru. Objašnjavaju se i definiraju zadaci i područja djelovanja agencija za odnose s javnošću koje uspješne odnose s klijentima mogu temeljiti samo na povjerenju kao ključu kvalitetnog i odanog odnosa. Također, definirana su i znanja i vještine potrebne pojedincu kao djelatniku ovog sektora, a koje zahtijevaju određena i ekonomska, ali i retorička znanja.

Parallel abstract (English)This final paper deals with public relations and considers them as a social science that analyzes trends, predicts consequences, advises managers and carried out planned programs to meet the organizational and public interest. Functions, roles and tasks of public relations are defined through different viewpoints. Although public relations are more developed worldwide, in recent time in Croatia there can be seen positive developments by increasing the number of employees in the public sector. This paper explains and defines the tasks and areas of activity of the agencies for public relations that base their successful relationships with clients on trust as a key for high-quality and loyal relationship. It also sets out the knowledge and skills necessary to the individual as an employee of the sector, which require specific and economic, but also rhetorical skills.
