Transportation of dangerous goods by road represents a complex and critical segment of the organization of goods transportation due to potential risks, both for people and property, and for the environment. This paper explores key aspects of the transportation of dangerous goods, including their classification, legal frameworks, technical requirements, safety procedures, and accident prevention and response measures. The paper defines the concept of dangerous substances and their classification according to international standards. Legal frameworks and regulations are discussed, with special emphasis on the Act on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and the European Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), as well as the necessary documentation for safe transport. The paper also analyzes in detail the process of packaging, storage and labeling of hazardous substances to ensure maximum safety during transport. A smaller part is dedicated to the technical requirements for vehicles used to transport dangerous goods, as well as the training of drivers to operate such vehicles. The loading and unloading procedures are described, as well as the measures taken in the transport infrastructure to improve transport safety. At the end of the paper, traffic accidents with these types of transport are briefly described and shown, and the procedures in the event of an accident are listed and described.
