Communal activities are extremely important for the citizens of the community in which they are performed, and one of them is the activity of disposal, removal and disposal of municipal waste. Waste management must not endanger the environment and human health, and the risk of pollution of the sea, water, soil and air, the creation of noise and unpleasant odors, harmful effects on nature and the occurrence of explosions or fires must be avoided. Waste management in the city of Zagreb is the responsibility of the local self-government, and disposal is done at the Prudinec landfill in Zagreb's Jakuševac district, exclusively for non-hazardous waste. When entering the waste disposal site, it is necessary to submit the prescribed documentation, which, among other things, requires an accurate declaration of the waste that has been imported. If he tries to dispose of an illegal type of waste, the responsibility and costs of subsequent separation are borne by the owner of that waste. The city of Zagreb also has a Jakuševac/Prudinec composting facility, where separately collected biodegradable waste from households and green waste from the green areas of the city of Zagreb are processed. However, the city of Zagreb still does not have a modern composting or sorting plant, which represents an increasing problem in view of the increasing amount of waste. Dissatisfaction is expressed not only by the workers of Čistoća, but also by the citizens of the city of Zagreb, which is why it can be said that its administration does not have an easy task at all.
