Labor law includes legal regulations governing labor relations, and accordingly, the main object of labor law is precisely work. The employment relationship is based on the conclusion of an employment contract between two parties: the employee and the employer. The worker has the obligation to perform the work according to the instructions of the employer, for which the employer must pay him a salary. During the entire time of work, the employer must protect the dignity of the worker as well as familiarize him with the regulations related to work. An employment contract can be concluded for a fixed or indefinite period of time, and every worker must have equal conditions and rights, regardless of the period for which he signed the contract. Also, some groups of workers have the right to advantages in employment over others, based on their status. These groups include national minorities, Croatian veterans, people with disabilities, military and civilian war invalids, and civilian victims of the Homeland War. In Croatian labor law, certain situations are still not sufficiently supported by law, which is why it is often not known who has a higher priority (in the case of two or more candidates applying with priority) or, on the other hand, there is uncertainty about whether the submitted evidence is sufficient to prove the right of priority.
