The population's informatic literacy is one of the conditions of Croatia's transfer into informatic society, in which we fall behind many countries of Europe. The Croatian IT Association(CIA) has developed activities of introducing the worldly accepted system who test knowledge for certain user skills. ECDL program which covers almost 80% of computer skills in which people lose most tim, is meant for those who want to educate and reaffirm their knowledge, which allows them employement in this country and abroad. Computer Driving Licence is translated in croatian as European computer diploma and is defined as an internationaly recognized credential of abilities for using personal computers. In Croatia the owner of licence for ECDL program is The Croatian IT Associaion(CIA) who on may 30.th got authorization from the ECDL fondation to impllement the ECDL program in Croatia. The ECDL program involves seven models or to say chapters for using office applications on personal computers. With the fondation contract,CIA is authorized to establish testing centers,promote ECDL, to run check ups on testing centers and other establishements. For every program chapter , you have to take a test and based on it's success you get a diploma that confirms acquired knowledge and is recognized in the whole world.
