The budget is a basic act in which all income and expenses are presented in a certain period of time. The town of Imotski, as a unit of local self-government, represents an urban, historical, economic and social center and has the right to decide on the budget, which is defined by the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia. The paper analyzes the budget of the city of Imotski for 2023 and for the period from 2018 to 2022. Budget analysis includes revenues, expenditures, inflows and outflows. As part of the analysis, the level of transparency of the budget of the city of Imotski was investigated. The aim of the research is to provide insight into the financial condition of the city during the mentioned period and to identify trends and changes in the allocation of resources. This analysis helps local authorities in better planning and budget adjustment to the needs of citizens, encouraging the growth and development of the city of Imotski. From the above data, a conclusion can be drawn about the financial sustainability and compliance of the budget with the goals of local self-government.
