Nevertheless, the results of the 2016 referendum indicated the desire of the British population to leave the Union. An important role in the victory of the "Remain" referendum campaign was played by the economic crisis, the threat of terrorism and fear of the influx of labor from less developed countries of the European Union. The Brexit process has proved to be an extremely complex process with farreaching consequences for politics, economics and society. Prime Minister Boris Johnson was determined at all costs to take the United Kingdom out of the European Union. Formally, the relationship between the United Kingdom and the Union ended with the confirmation of the Withdrawal Agreement. This meant that negotiations could begin for a trade agreement between the two sides. As the UK seeks its position on the geopolitical front, all the consequences of Brexit will only be able to be seen with more time.
