One of the most important economic sectors of the Republic of Croatia is the tourism sector, within which there is a tendency to increase the arrivals of foreign tourists in our area. Among the arrivals of foreign tourists in the Republic of Croatia, the arrivals of Italian tourists throughout the year are also very important. The presentation of the application of the Italian language in tourism is the topic of this paper as well as its importance on overall tourism in the Republic of Croatia. Given the fact that tourism is part of the tertiary service sector, all its employees; tourism service providers; represent an important link in the tourism sector with a continuous effort to raise the quality of service and competitiveness in the part of the economic market covered by tourism. Since tourism workers are the bearers of the quality of service, their continuous education is very important with the aim of constantly raising the level of service availability. This mainly includes educating tourist workers through foreign languages, which significantly raises the quality of tourist services. Among the most important foreign languages is Italian, since Italy is traditionally focused on staying in the Republic of Croatia throughout the year and as such represents one of the most important economic markets in tourism, which has a continuous growth from year to year.
