Abstract
Memorijalni centar „Nikola Tesla“ u Smiljanu veliča lik i djelo velikog znanstvenika Nikole Tesle. Otvoren je 2006. godine povodom obilježavanja 150. obljetnice rođenja velikog znanstvenika. Memorijalni centar se sastoji od povijesne građe (Rodne kuće Nikole Tesle, parohijske crkve svetih apostola Petra i Pavla i gospodarskog objekta) te novoizgrađenih objekata replike Tesline ispitne stanice i multimedijalnog objekta. Inovacije uvedene 2006. godine doprinijele su povećanju broja posjetitelja kako domaćih tako i inozemnih. Memorijalni centar Nikola Tesla osim što je dio kulturnog turizma ličko-senjske županije, dio je i prepoznatljivosti Republike Hrvatske po velikom imenu svjetski poznatog znanstvenika. Lika bi mogla postati turističko središte ukoliko se prepozna Memorijalni centar „Nikola Tesla“ i ostale kulturne znamenitosti i povežu sa svim prirodnim potencijalima koje područje Like ima.
Abstract (english)
The Memorial Center "Nikola Tesla" in Smiljan acknowledges the figure and work of the great scientist Nikola Tesla. It was opened in 2006, marking the 150th anniversary of the great scientists birth. The Memorial Center consists of historical buildings (Nikola Tesla's family home, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and the barn building) and newly constructed buildings such as a replica of Tesla’s testing station and a multimedia facility. The innovations introduced in 2006 have contributed to an increase in the number of visitors both domestic and foreign. The Memorial Center of Nikola Tesla, apart from being part of the cultural tourism of the Lika-Senj County, is part of the recognizability of the Republic of Croatia. Lika could become a tourist center if the Memorial Center "Nikola Tesla" and other cultural attractions were recognized and linked with all the natural potentials that the area of Lika has.
