Abstract
Zdravstveni turizam je iznimno popularna vrsta turizma koja pozitivno utječe na gospodarski razvoj kako destinacije tako i države. Zdravstveni turizam u Hrvatskoj ostvaruje oko 300 milijuna eura prihoda na godišnjoj razini i zapošljava oko 10.000 osoba. Aktivnost zdravstvenog turizma u određenoj destinaciji povećava broj noćenja u destinaciji te poboljšava infrastrukturna uređenja i razvija novu ponudu. Iako Hrvatska trenutno nije među prvih deset europskih destinacija, u tom sektoru ima prostora za napredak. Kako bi se navedeno postiglo, potrebno je poduzeti mjere koje uključuju integraciju ponude, podizanje kvaliteta usluga, specijaliziranu prodaju i promociju. Cilj rada je prikazati ulogu zdravstvenog turizma u Republici Hrvatskoj s posebnim osvrtom na Varaždinske Toplice.
Abstract (english)
Health tourism is an extremely popular type of tourism that positively affects the economic development of both the destination and the country. Health tourism in Croatia generates around EUR 300 million in revenue annually and employs around 10.000 people. The activity of health tourism in a certain destination increases the number of overnight stays in the destination, improves infrastructure and develops new offers. Although Croatia is not currently among the top ten European destinations, there is room for improvement in this sector. In order to achieve the above, it is necessary to take measures that include the integration of the offer, raising the quality of services, specialized sales and promotion, and continuous implementation of investments. The aim of the paper is to show the role of health tourism in the Republic of Croatia with special reference to Varaždinske Toplice.
