Maritime cargo ports could be defined as a sea and sea area directly connected to constructed or unbuilt coasts and other facilities intended for the docking, anchorage, and protection of ships, also as machinery, facilities for loading and disembarkation of passengers and goods, storage and other manipulation of goods, production and processing of goods and other economic activities interconnected with those activities by economic, transport or technological links. North America is the most developed continent in the western part of planet Earth's hemisphere. Some of the world's strongest economic states are situated on the territory of this continent. Because of its position, this continent has become logistical support for the entire world. This final paper presents the ports of Los Angeles, South Louisiana, New York/New Jersey, Prince Rupert, Montreal, and Vancouver located in the West and East parts, and the great lakes of North America. These ports make up the largest and most important ports of the United States of America and Canada and have a major impact on continental and world trade.
