AbstractNeprofitne organizacije djeluju neovisno o vladi i tržištu, ostvaruju profit ali ga ne raspodjeljuju. Oni su agenti humanitarnih promjena te postoje kako bi poboljšali ljudske živote. Svaka organizacija pa tako i neprofitna mora imati svoju misiju, viziju i ciljeve te odgovarajuću organizacijsku strukturu da bi mogli postići rezultate i uspješno poslovati. Iako se dugi niz godina smatralo da profesionalno upravljanje nema bitnu funkciju u neprofitnim organizacijama, shvatilo se da je kvalitetno organiziranjejako važno. Strukture neprofitnih organizacija teže tome da budu neformalne a vodstvo teži demokratskom stilu. Nepostojanje efikasne organizacije i kvalitetnog menadžmenta predstavlja opasnost za zajednicu. Razlike između neprofitnih i profitnih organizacija proizlaze iz same svrhe postojanja jednih odnosno drugih, no specifičnost neprofitnih jeste u postojanju volontera. U ovom radu pobliže je opisan rad „Zaklade Ana Rukavina“. Zaklada je pokrenuta od strane novinarke Ane koja je oboljela od leukemije i njenih prijatelja kako bi se prikupio novac potreban za liječenje u SAD-u. Kroz Registar dobrovoljnih darivatelja matičnih stanica, Banke krvi iz pupkovine i brojnih akcija i projekata, Zaklada iz dana u dan pomaže i spašava živote diljem Republike Hrvatske.

Parallel abstract (English)NGOs (Non-govermental organisations) function independently of goverment and market,they make profit but they don`t distribute it. They are the agents of humanitary changes and exist so they could improve people`s lives. Every organisation, including a non-profit one, needs to have its mision, vision and golas, as well as adequate organisational structure so that they could make wanted results and do business successfuly. In the past, it was considered that professional management doesn`t have an important function in the NGO`s, but they have come to realize that is very important so methodes and tehniques of professional manager are applied with the goal og fulfilling this mission. Structure of NGO`s have a tendency of being informal and the leadership is usually of democratic style. Non-existance of an effective organisation and quality management is a menace to the comunity. Differences between profit and non-profit organizations come out of their sole purpose of existance, but the distictiveness of non-profit ones is in the existance of volonteers. In this thesis the work of the Fund of Ana Rukavina is detaily described. The Fund was started by journalist Ana Rukavina, suffering from leukemia at the time, and by her closest friends in order to aquire money for the treatment in the USA. Through the Register of donors of stem cells, Bank of blood and other actions and projects, the Fund is helping in saving lives in Croatia on a daily basis.
