Abstract
Mirovinski sustav jedan je od osnovnih sustava socijalne sigurnosti koji se neposredno temelji na spolnoj i dobnoj strukturi stanovništva. Demografske karakteristike neke populacije u najvećoj su mjeri poznate, mjerljive i dosta pouzdano procjenjive. Dvije karakteristike populacije se ističu i međusobno su uvjetovane: starenje i struktura stanovništva. Starenje stanovništva jedan je od važnijih razloga za teškoće u hrvatskom mirovinskom sustavu. Hrvatska već duži period bilježi loše demografske promjene stoga su nužne efikasne mjere populacijske politike. U radu su iznesene promjene u dobnoj strukturi hrvatskog stanovništva, kako je do tih promjena došlo te su iznesene projekcije za budućnost. Zbog kontinuiranih negativnih trendova ugrožena visina mirovinskih primanja te sve više raste pritisak na mirovinski sustav.
Abstract (english)
The pension system is one of the basic social security systems that is directly based on the gender and age structure of the population. The demographic characteristics of a population are largely known, measurable, and reliably estimated. Two characteristics of the population stand out and are mutually conditioned: aging and population structure. The aging population is one of the most important reasons for the difficulties in the Croatian pension system. Croatia has been recording poor demographic changes for a long time, so effective population policy measures are necessary. The paper presents changes in the age structure of the Croatian population, how these changes occurred and presents projections for the future. Due to continuous negative trends, the level of pension incomes is endangered and the pressure on the pension system is growing.
