Abstract
Riječnu luku moguće je definirati kao dio vodnog puta i s njim neposredno povezani kopneni prostor koji je namijenjen i opremljen za pristajanje, sidrenje i zaštitu plovila, ukrcaj, iskrcaj i skladištenje robe ili ukrcaj i iskrcaj putnika, u kojoj se obavljaju različite komplementarne djelatnosti koje su s robom ili s plovilom u neposrednoj ekonomskoj, prometnoj i tehnološkoj vezi. Rijeka Mississippi je jedna od najduljih rijeka na svijetu. Istječe iz jezera Itasca probija se kroz usku dolinu i teče ravnicom do ušća rijeke Ohio. U donjem dijelu teče nizinom te se ulijeva u Meksički zaljev velikom deltom, oko 26000 kilometara kvadratnih. Na navedenoj rijeci nalaze se luke St. Bernard, St. Louis, Greater Baton Rouge, St. Louisiana, Plaquemines, New Madrid County, Mississipi County, Memphis.
Abstract (english)
A river port can be defined as a part of a waterway and directly connected land, which is intended and equipped for landing, anchoring and protection of vessels, embarkation, disembarkation and storage of goods or embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, in which various complementary activities are carried out goods or with a vessel in direct economic, transport and technological connection. The Mississippi River is one of the longest rivers in the world. It flows from Lake Itasca through a narrow valley and flows through the plain to the mouth of the Ohio River. In the lower part it flows through the lowlands and flows into the Gulf of Mexico with a large delta, about 26,000 square kilometers. At the said river are the ports of St. Bernard, St. Louis, Greater BatonRouge, St. Louisiana, Plaquemines, New Madrid County, Mississippi County, Memphis.
