Abstract
Zaštićena područja prirode ubrajaju se u red najznačajnijih nacionalnih dobara. Stoga je zaštita prirodne i kulturne baštine kao i održanje bioraznolikosti među prioritetima nacionalnih politika. Upravljanje zaštićenim područjima prirode nameće se kao poseban izazov, ali i prilika, jer se u novije vrijeme na prirodne resurse gleda kao na potencijalnu ekonomsku vrijednost. Javne ustanove koje upravljaju zaštićenim područjima prirode imaju primarnu zadaću skrbi o prirodnim dobrima tog područja, ali se sve češće ističe i njihov gospodarski značaj, posebno u segmentu turizma. U ovom radu istražena je uspješnost poslovanja javne ustanove koja upravlja Nacionalnim parkom Plitvička jezera te su analizirane njezine djelatnosti kao i ekonomski učinci proizašli iz obavljanja tih djelatnosti.
Abstract (english)
Protected areas of nature are among the most important national goods. Therefore, the protection of natural and cultural heritage as well as the maintenance of biodiversity are among the priorities of national policies. The management of protected areas of nature imposes itself as a special challenge, but also as a chance, because recently natural resources are viewed as a potential economic value. Public institutions that manage protected areas of nature have the primary task of caring for the natural assets of this area, but their economic importance, especially in the tourism sector, is increasingly emphasized. This paper investigates the business success of the public institution operating the Plitvice Lakes National Park and analyzes its activities as well as the economic effects of carrying out these activities.
