Metropolitanization is the process of gathering stronger urban settlements around the larger and more significant central city leading to the creation of urban regions. It is a process of development of urban agglomeration of the wider area of the great city. The earliest began in the United States (between the two world wars). Metropolitanization of Croatian cities studied by determining the metropolitan area under which it is studied demographic and economic decentralization, because the observed process is most easily recognized through a reduction in the number of urban population in favor of the surroundings and the increased share of services. The most widely cultivated city of Zagreb because of the importance of its metropolitan region and the availability of numerous studies that deal with the study of the city and its surroundings. Of course, one must not ignore the importance of Split as the macro-regional center which is a center for the development of their surroundings and the county.
