AbstractU svijetu, danas, javlja se sve veći gospodarski razvoj koji za posljedicu ima i rast prometa. Poznato je da je promet, pogotovo cestovni, ima najveći utjecaj na okoliš. Taj utjecaj je negativan, a to je zbog toga što vozila onečišćuju tlo, vodu i zrak. Ta onečišćenja rezultat su konvencionalnih motora, dizel i otto, koji koriste fosilna goriva. Problem se nastoji ukloniti tako da se fosilna goriva zamjene alternativnim gorivima za pogon vozila. Alternativne pogone čine vodik, biodizel, bioetanol, solarna energija, elektropogoni itd. Svaki pogon ima svoje prednosti i nedostatke koji se s vremenom nastaje otkloniti. Još uvijek ovi načini pogona su preskupi i nedovoljno istraženi za masovnu uporabu, ali svakako je to budućnost jer jedino pomoću njih možemo očuvati okoli, a na taj način i povećati kvalitetu života.

Parallel abstract (English)In the world today, there is a growing economic development, which has resulted in the increase in traffic. It is known that traffic, especially road traffic, has the greatest impact on the environment. This impact is negative, and that is because the vehicles pollute the soil, water and air. These pollutants are the result of conventional engines, diesel and otto, using fossil fuels. The problem is trying to remove by replacement of fossil fuels with alternative fuels to power vehicles. Alternative drives are hydrogen, biodiesel, bioethanol, solar energy, electric plants and so on. Each drive has its advantages and disadvantages that are eventually produced rectified. Still, these methods of propulsion are too expensive and insufficiently explored for mass consumption, but certainly this is the future because it is only through them can we preserve the environment, and thus to improve the quality of life.
