Abstract
Razvojem država i međunarodne zajednice, javlja se potreba za uspostavom i održavanjem diplomatskih odnosa između subjekata međunarodnog prava. Diplomatska predstavništva koja su akreditirana na prostoru druge države uživaju određenu zaštitu u obliku diplomatskih imuniteta i povlastica koji su jedinstven, nepovrediv i apsolutan dio međunarodnog prava. Kodifikacijom običajnog međunarodnog prava i usvajanjem Bečke konvencije o diplomatskom odnosima iz 1961. godine se uređuju temeljna prava i pitanja diplomatskih odnosa, što uvelike olakšava članovima diplomatskog predstavništva obavljanje svojih funkcija. Svrha i cilj diplomatskih imuniteta i povlastica nije usmjeren na pojedinca, kao ni na rušenje digniteta ili kršenja zakona države primateljice, već na nesmetano i efikasno obavljanje diplomatskih funkcija.
Abstract (english)
With the development of states and international community, there was a need to establish and maintain diplomatic conntection between subjects of international law. Diplomatic missions are accredited in the territory od foreign countries and they have some kind of protection such as diplomatic immunity and benefits and they are unique, inviolable and absolute part of international law. By codification of customary international law and adopting Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations from 1961, where they edit some fundmental rights and questiones of diplomatic relations, which makes a lot easier for diplomatic members to perfom their function. The purpose and the goal of diplomatic immunities and privileges is not aimed at the individual person and not at the destruction of dignity and violation of the laws of reciving states, but at the smooth and efficient perfomance of diplomatic functiones.
