Abstract
Schengensko područje predstavlja skupinu europskih zemalja koje su postigle sporazum o ukidanju unutarnjih granica radi slobodnog kretanja ljudi. Građanima je omogućeno sudjelovanje u Schengenskom prostoru bez potrebe za putovnicama ili kontrolama na granicama, dok zemlje članice međusobno surađuju radi zajedničke zaštite granica. Rad se bavi nastankom, širenjem, pravilima te zakonodavstvom Schengenskog područja. Također, istražuje međunarodnu suradnju u zaštiti granica, razmjenu informacija te borbu protiv kriminala i terorizma. Prema posljednjom poglavlju analizira se trenutačna situacija i izazovi Schengenskih prostora, uključujući migracijske pritiske i razmatra moguće smjerove razvoja u kontekstu europske integracije.
Abstract (english)
The Schengen area represents a group of Europen countries that have reached an agreement on the abolition of internal borders for the sake of free movement of people. Citizens are enabled to participate in the Schengen area without the need for passports or border protection. The paper also deals with the creation, expansion, rules and legislation of the Schengen area. It investigates international cooperation border protection, information and the fight against crime and terrorism. Towards last chapter, the current situation and challenges of the Schengen area are analyzed, including migration pressures, and possible development directions are considered in the context of European integration.
