Abstract
U radu se obrađuje sudjelovanje civilnog društva u procesu zaštite okoliša. Tema je odabrana iz razloga što su organizacije civilnog društva već dugo zagovornici zaštite okoliša, što je rezultiralo time da su vlade prepoznale predstavnike civilnog društva kao važne subjekte zaštite okoliša. Zahvaljujući stručnosti i resursima koje posjeduju, suradnja civilnog društva s javnim sektorom može dovesti do inovativnih rješenja za ekološka pitanja i zadovoljavanja ekoloških potreba građana. Aarhuška konvencija zahtijeva od vlada da dopuste pripadnicima javnosti i zainteresirane javnosti (civilnog društva) pristup informacijama o temama vezanim uz zaštitu okoliša. Cilj rada je prikazati kako su odredbe ove Konvencije implementirane u nacionalno zakonodavstvo Republike Hrvatske s posebnim naglaskom na informiranje i sudjelovanje u rješavanju ekoloških pitanja od strane predstavnika civilnog društva.
Abstract (english)
The paper deals with the participation of civil society in the environmental protection process. The topic was chosen because civil society organizations have long been advocates of environmental protection, which resulted in governments recognizing civil society representatives as important subjects of environmental protection. Thanks to the expertise and resources they possess, the cooperation of civil society with the public sector can lead to innovative solutions for environmental issues and meeting the environmental needs of citizens. The Aarhus Convention requires governments to allow members of the public and interested public (civil society) access to information on environmental issues. The aim of the paper is to show how the provisions of this Convention have been implemented in the national legislation of the Republic of Croatia with a special emphasis on information and participation in solving environmental issues by representatives of civil society
