Abstract
Povelja temeljnih ljudskih prava Europske unije je najznačajniji dokument zaštite ljudskih prava na razini Europske unije koji je donesen u listopadu 2000. godine, a stupio je na snagu u prosincu 2009. godine zajedno s Lisabonskim ugovorom. Povelja sadrži sva temeljna prava svih koji žive u uniji te je uvedena kako bi se unijela dosljednost i jasnoća u donesena prava te joj je svrha sva ta prava učiniti očitima. Drugim riječima, povelja je jedna jedinstvena i jednostavna zbirka svih građanskih, političkih, ekonomskih i socijalnih prava te ujedno je i potvrda da smo svi stanovnici Europske unije, zahvaljujući njome, jednaki.
Abstract (english)
The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union is the most important document for the protection of human rights at the level of the European Union, which was adopted in October 2000 and entered into force in December 2009 together with the Lisbon Treaty. The Charter contains all the fundamental rights of all who live in the Union and was introduced in order to bring consistency and clarity to the adopted rights and its purpose is to make all these rights obvious. In other words, the Charter is a unique and simple collection of all civil, political, economic and social rights, and it is also a confirmation that all the inhabitants of the European Union, thanks to it, are equal.
