This paper attempts to explain the functioning of banks and what tasks they perform. Before elaborating the business and organization of the banking sector, it is necessary to define the term bank. The bank is a for-profit organization whose main task is to offer and provide financial services. Numerous changes have taken place in banking over the last fifteen years, showing their impact on the entire banking sector and the gradual transition from traditional to modern banking, which gives rise to new business philosophies of banks through which banks enter the entire financial business. The goals of banking are defined, which are brought to the study, processing and explanation of the bank, the banking system, operations, various relationships and operations that occur between banks and their clients, as well as the characteristics that describe the operations of banks. Banking has the task of examining and monitoring the general economic trends that are reflected in the functioning of banks in the banking system. The main activities of the banking system are custody of deposits, and the greatest emphasis is placed on issuing loans. Loans, in addition to their availability, have the most important function that banks provide in addition to other services, such as performing payment operations and receiving deposits.
