Abstract
Kriptovalute (eng. cryptocurrency) su valute utemeljene na kriptografiji (matematika za šifriranje informacija) koje su se počele pojavljivati od 2008.g., ubrzo nakon velike financijske krize. Prva kriptovaluta ikad stvorena zove se Bitcoin, a napravio ju je nepoznati programer pod pseudonimom Satoshi Nakamoto. Kriptovalute se ne temelje odnosno pokriće im nije zlato kao što je slučaj kod “tradicionalnih” valuta. One se temelje na sloţenim matematičkim zadacima koje rješavaju rudari. U ovom slučaju rudari ne rudare u rudnicima već je to skupi i snaţni hardware odnosno računala. Danas ima na tisuće kriptovaluta. Nekima je vrijednost visoka dok je većini vrijednost izrazito mala. Razlikujemo centralizirane i decentralizirane kriptovalute. Centralizirane kriptovalute imaju direktnu vezu sa trećom stranom koja je kontrolira dok decentralizirane kriptovalute kao sto je Bitcoin ne kontrolira nitko odnosno vrijednost mu raste i pada na principu ponude i potraţnje. U radu ću objasniti nekoliko kriptovaluta kao što su : Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin te Ripple.
Abstract (english)
Cryptocurrencies are currencies based on cryptography (mathematics of encryption) that have started to emerge since 2008, shortly after a major financial crisis. The first cryptocurrency ever created was called Bitcoin and was made by an unknown developer under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Cryptocurrencies do not originate from gold as "traditional" currencies. They are based on complex mathematical tasks handled by miners. In this case, miners are not miners in mines but it is expensive and powerful hardware, computers respectively. Today there are thousands of cryptocurrencies. Some of them have high value, but most of them have an extremely small value. Cryptocurrency can be centralized or decentralized. Centralized cryptocurrency is directly linked and controlled by the third side, while decentralized cryptocurrency as a Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone, so its value grows and falls depending on supply and demand. In this paper, I will explain cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin, and Ripple.
