Abstract
Računalo se moţe definirati kao elektronički uređaj, koji upravlja podacima ili informacijama te ima mogućnost obrade, pohrane i dohvaćanja podataka. Moţe se koristiti za pisanje dokumenata, pretraţivanje interneta, surfanje i slanje e-pošte. Računalo se također može koristiti za rukovanje računovodstvom, proračunskim tablicama, upravljanje bazama podataka, prezentacije te u posljednje vrijeme podosta za videoigre. Razvoj i proizvodnja suvremenog računala pripisuju se otkrićima i napretku u tehnologijama i potrebama za kvantifikacijom. U svim navedenim procesima koje računala obavljaju jako je bitna brzina njihova izvoĎenja odnosno vrijeme potrebno da se određen proces izvrši te konstantnost i stabilnost u samom izvođenju. Upravo na tom području je zastupljeno mjerenje performansi računala koje se zasniva na testiranju te mjerenju komponenti zasebno kao i cjelokupnog sistema i sustava. Mjerenje performansi se provodi radi utvrĎivanja funkcionalnosti i dosega mogućnosti odreĎenih hardverskih komponenti te kasnije optimiziranja i poboljšanja odreĎenih aspekata radi što boljeg funkcioniranja samog računala u izvoĎenju potrebnih akcija i procesa.
Abstract (english)
A computer can be defined as an electronic device, which manipulates data or information and has the ability to process, store and retrieve data. It can be used for writing documents, surfing the internet and for sending e-mails. Computers can also be used to handle accounting, spreadsheets, database management, presentations and lately more and more in videogames. The development and production of modern computers are attributed to discoveries and advances in technologies and quantification needs. In all the processes that computers perform, the speed of their perforamance is very important, ie the time required for a certain process, and the constant and stable performance of the process itself. It is precisely in this area that measurement of computer performance (benchmark) is based on, the testing and measurement of components as well as the overall hardware and software system. Performance measurement is performed to determine the performance of certain hardware components and later optimize and improve certain aspects to improve the functioning of the computer itself in performing the required actions and processes.
