Abstract Neprofitne organizacije su sve organizacije koje za cilj nemaju ostvaranje dobiti, već unaprijeĊenje društva i opće dobro. Hrvatska Turistiĉka Zajednica posluje po principu neprofitnosti, odnosno njen glavni cilj nije dobit, već unaprijeĊenje turistiĉke ponude ĉime doprinosi razvoju društva u cjelini.
U radu je prikazano funkcioniranje, rad i djelovanje Hrvatske turistiĉke zajednice, koje je obraĊeno kroz rezultate ostvarenih dolazaka i noćenja gostiju. S obzirom da je turizam postao jedna od najvaţnijih grana hrvatskog gospodarstva, ĉemu su, osim dobro odraĊene promocije, doprinjele i prirodne ljepote Hrvatske, prvenstveno razvedena obala i otoci. Rad se temelji na ulozi i doprinosu Hrvatske turistiĉke zajednice, koja kao vrhovna turistiĉka institucija u suradnji sa lokalnim turistiĉkim zajednicama pokreće, sufinancira i nadzire sve turistiĉke promotivne aktivnosti.
Abstract (english) A nonprofit organization it is an organization that uses its surplus of the revenues to further achieve its ultimate objective, rather than distributing its income. Croatian National Tourist Board leads its bussines on non profit principal, it’s main goal is not profit or income, instead, it’s goal is further advancement of tourist offer in whole Republic of Croatia, which benefits society. In this paper we have defined the functioning, work and activity of the Croatian National Tourist Board, reflected through the results expressed in numbers, ie arrivals and overnight stays. This is primarily due to the fact that tourism has become the most important branch and the only bright spot of the Croatian economy. In addition to the well-made promotion, natural beauties of Croatia, primarily of the coast and the archipelago have contributed to its development. This paper is based on the role and contribution of the Croatian National Tourist Board, which as a supreme tourism institution, in cooperation with local tourist communities, initiates, co-finances and supervises all tourist promotional activities.
