Abstract
Varaždinska županija smještena je u sjeverozapadnom dijelu Hrvatske, na rubnim dijelovima Panonske nizine uz desnu obalu rijeke Drave s površinom od 1262 km² i oko 176 000 stanovnika prema podacima iz 2011. godine što je oko 140 stan/km² i čini je jednom od najgušće naseljenih županija u Republici Hrvatskoj. Prema zakonu o razvrstavanju cesta, svaka javna prometnica, ulica u naselju i nerazvrstana cesta na kojoj se obavlja promet naziva se cesta. Varaždinska županija broji ukupno 5 državnih cesta koje su od velikog značaja za povezivanja sa susjednim državama i županijama, kao npr. državna cesta D2 i D3 te 69 županijskih cesta koje su važne za uspostavljanje veze sa državnim cestama. Održavanje državnih cesta, te građenje i projektiranje vrši poduzeće „Hrvatske ceste d.o.o.“, dok je održavanje županijskih cesta u nadležnosti „Županijske uprave za ceste Varaždin“. Državne i županijske ceste u Varaždinskoj županiji su u dobrom stanju, iako su potrebne rekonstrukcije kako bi se povećala kvaliteta i sigurnost odvijanja prometa na cestama.
Abstract (english)
Varaždin County is located in the northwestern part of Croatia, on the outskirts of the Pannonian Basin, on the right bank of the river Drava with an area of 1262km² and about 176 000 inhabitants according to 2011 dana which is about 140 apartments/km² and it is one of the most heavily inhabited counties in the Republic of Croatia. According to the law on the classification of road, every public road, village street and unclassificated road where traffic is taking place is called a road. Varaždin County also has 5 state roads, which are of great importance when it comes to connections with the neighbouring countrys, countys such as state road D2 and D3 and 69 county roads as well, which are important for establishing links with state roads. The maintenance and building of the state roads is in the jurisdiction of „Hrvatske ceste d.o.o.“, while the maintenance of the county roads is under the responsibility of „County Road Administration Varaždin“. State and county roads in Varaždin County are in good condition, although some reconstruction are still necessary to enhance the quality and safety of the traffic.
