Abstract
Koncept održivog razvoja stvoren je kao rezultat povećane osviještenosti o važnosti očuvanja okoliša. Održivi razvoj u turizmu je dugoročni cilj kojem teži turizam. Važno je očuvanje kulturne i prirodne baštine te zadovoljenje potreba turista danas ali da se isto omoguće nadolazećim generacijama. Eko hoteli posluju u skladu s načelima održivog razvoja. Ovakvim načinom poslovanja smanjuju se negativni utjecaji na okoliš te se povećava efikasnost poslovanja. Suvremeni su turisti sve osviješteniji čime i raste potražnja za ovakvim smještajnim kapacitetima. Sve se veći broj hotela odlučuje na „zeleno poslovanje“. Kako se prelazak na „zeleno poslovanje“ isplati prikazano je kroz nekoliko praktičnih primjera iz svijeta i Hrvatske.
Abstract (english)
The concept of sustainable development was created as a result of an increased understanding of the importance of environmental conservation. Sustainable development in tourism is a long-term goal of tourism. It is important to preserve the cultural and natural heritage and, meet the needs of tourists today, but also to enable the same for the coming generations. Eco-friendly hotels operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. This way of doing business reduces negative environmental impacts and increases business efficiency. Tourists are becoming more and more aware so they are searching for “green” accommodation. More and more hotels are deciding to swich on "green” kind of business. Positive aspects of eco hotels are shown through several practical examples in the world and Croatia.
